Supporting Non-Verbal Communication
The Genesee County 911 Communications Center relies on privacy without isolation to facilitate efficient handling of emergency response calls. Their newest installation features low-profile consoles that allow the Genesee team to interact with each other.

According to Lloyd Fayling, Director, the Genesee team is very happy with the low profile because everyone can see and interact with each other. “A lot of ‘non verbal’ goes on as the communications team helps each other in their work, and the Supervisor can oversee and assist very easily without being on a raised platform. Watson furniture lends very well to the teamwork necessary in a dispatch center. I also am constantly getting compliments from visitors (including people from other Centers) about how great it all looks.”

Watson won the competitive bid and supplied nine positions of Synergy 3 Full Lift and Linear consoles, custom pie shaped desks, storage pedestals, rotating resources storage, TechLink, task lighting, mobile fans, TCS, a specialty coffee hutch, and office furniture including Watson’s M2 storage-supported desking furniture. The original Watson consoles were repurposed on another floor for continued use. According to Fayling, Watson’s ability to reconstruct them in the smaller space was “outstanding.”
